Why we started
A new kind of buyer, and most owners have never heard of it
For years we've worked alongside owner-led businesses: companies with 20, 50 or 200 people that built their operations one job, one customer and one fix at a time. Most of those owners hear from the same kinds of buyers again and again, asking to buy the whole company.
In 2026 a different kind of buyer appeared. AI labs started paying for the working record that established companies build up over years. It's a real opportunity, but it arrived fast, the buyers all want different things, and most owners have never heard of it.
We started Logbook Partners to be the straight-talking guide we'd want if it were our company: someone who knows who's buying, what they pay for, and what the fine print means.
